We just finished Kickoff and are now going to our first planning meeting of the year!
This year's challenge is a frisbee-shooting game with the added challenge of climbing an eight-foot square pyramid. To tackle this challenge, we first broke off into a strategy team and an inventorying team. The strategy team planned out our game strategies, including what to prioritize and offensive and defensive strategies. Our inventorying team sorted all our parts from last year.
After, we split into modular design teams for the climbing mechanism, shooting mechanism, and drive train and chassis.
Robotics season has finally started!

New Year, New Video
So fortunately we all didn't blow up spontaneously last year. So to celebrate that, I put up a new video:
What do you guys think? Leave a comment telling us what you liked. :-)

KICKOFF!
Hey everybody, Cupcakes reporting for duty =P
Tomorrow (Saturday, January 5th) is a big day for all of us on the robotics team. It's the FIRST annual Robotics Kickoff!
So you may be wondering, "What exactly is the Kickoff?" To summarize it, FIRST is announcing its annual robotics challenge for all FRC (First Robotics Competition) teams. What's so special about this? Not only is this the first time anybody sees the challenge, but it's worldwide. It's going to be broadcast at 10:30 a.m. on NASA TV (Channel 101 for HD and 103 for SD) for all of you staying at home. Check it out!
